Baby Hearts Press will donate 1000 copies of The Heart of a Mother to facilities around the world providing services to the congenital heart defect (CHD) community. These books will be donated, in part, in cooperation with members of the CHD community around the world.
The cost is $5 plus $4 shipping in the U.S. (shipping outside the U.S. will be calculated per order); please add 8.25% sales tax if in Texas.

I have learned much from the families over the last few years, and I continually look for ways to help them through the stressful event of cardiac surgery for their child. As surgeons, we are not necessarily trained how to help the family learn or find coping mechanisms, though we may get asked routinely. Do you have any other suggestions on reading materials?

Many thanks for sending me your book for review. I am very impressed with this book. Clearly you have researched it thoroughly, and I'm, sure would provide not only an invaluable source of information to parents, but also to nurses, doctors and other members of the health care team. There are some differences in the way that HLHS is managed in this country, but despite that I would have no hesitation in recommending this book to parents in the UK. Our centre performs around 140 open heart cases per year - a small handful of these with HLHS.
