Paul Sorensen's daughter, Jeni Busta, was featured on NPR! Here is a link to the story : The written story is a little different that the actual broadcast. What's cool about the broadcast is that you can hear Jeni and Jill's (Jeni's mom) voices. I felt it was very well done.

It is with great sadness that I have to report that HOF contributor Steve Catoe, has passed away. Steve's poem appears at the beginning of "The Heart of a Father: and his essay is in the last chapter of the book. I am so glad I had a chance to get to know Steve. He was truly an inspiration and a great advocate in the CHD community. He will be greatly missed.

October 9, 2010 - Anna will be the keynote speaker for the 2010 American Heart Association Heart Heroes Annual Conference. Anna's speach will be entitled "Finding Balance When a Hurricane Hits!." She will also participate in a panel discussion with HLHS survivor and "The Heart of a Father" contributor, Bryan Rothlein and with pediatric cardiologist, Dr. Gul Dadlani. The title of the panel discussion is "Transitioning: A Bright Future for American Heart Heroes Kids." A DVD of these speeches will be available soon. Check the Store for availability.

January 8, 2010 , Anna will be a featured speaker for the Onion Creek Arts and Literary Club where she will present a program entitled, "My New Mission In Life." This will be held at the Onion Creek Club at 2510 Onion Creek Parkway.

There are two conferences coming in fall 2009 that BHP is excited about.
The first one will be on October 3, 2009 . The American Heart Association Heart Heroes annual conference will be held in Orlando, FL. Families are invited to attend the all-day affair free of charge. As parents attend sessions, American Heart Heroes chlidren and their siblings will have a full day filled with exciting and special activities planned just for them! Anna will be a featured speaker at this conference!

On October 17, 2009 there will be another conference entitled "Adults living with Congenital Heart Defects: Body, Mind and Spirit." It will be held in Waltham, MA at the Sommerville Holiday Inn. Mary Kay Klein, who is one of the authors featured in /The Heart of a Mother/, and Ted Klein, featured in /The Heart of a Father/, are sponsoring this conference in memory of their daughter Karen Klein McNulty, an adult with CHD.
